New release of moodletxt - version 2.3.3
Tue, 17 Nov 2009 09:30:00 GMT

moodletxt 2.3.3 has been released. This is a major bugfix release, further building on the 2.3.x code base. This release of moodletxt fixes major issues with filtering inbound messages to their correct destination, and with receiving messages via the XML Push interface. Several more minor fixes are detailed below:

  • The "new installation" page has been modified to allow proxy details to be entered prior to configuration.
  • An issue on the main settings form and the user signature form that caused backslashes to be entered in front of special characters has been fixed.
  • An issue on the administration page that caused the default inbox of a txttools account to not update correctly has been corrected.
  • The XML Push and cron scripts have been updated to use the new inbound filtering system, as well as integrate with new upgrades on the txttools website.
  • An issue with transferring messages to another user's inbox has been corrected.
  • An issue with retrieving RSS history from the database has been fixed.
  • Various deprecated method calls have been removed from the code to bring it up to date with newer Moodle versions.
  • A setting has been added to the control panel to disable moodletxt's include of the jQuery javascript framework if your existing Moodle theme already includes it, preventing conflict.

txttools highly recommends that all moodletxt users upgrade to this latest version as soon as possible. To install this new update, simply download the new installer, delete your existing /blocks/moodletxt folder, and unzip the new files into your Moodle root folder. When you visit the admin/notifications page of your Moodle site, you should receive a message telling you the upgrade has been completed successfully.

In addition, now that recent upgrades to both txttools.co.uk and moodletxt have fully enabled the XML Push interface, we recommend that all users begin using this method to receive status updates and inbound messages, if your installation allows it.
